Newborn Miss "B"

If I could specialize in anything it would be newborn photography.
Who could not resist the sweetness and newness of a newborn baby.

Here is sweet little Bentley, just a week old!

Sunsets and Umbrellas

Living in a small town somewhere in the middle of nowhere,
you are very limited in your shopping.
So when I get the chance to get to the city, I waste no time and get on the ball of finding unique items at discounted prices.
Up here in the great plains you get beautiful fields for backdrops but not much of anything else.
Doing the same field shot after field shot gets a little mundane and you get a little stuck in your creativity.
On one of my trips to the city I came across these paper umbrellas Hobby Lobby had for 40% off!
I could not pass these things up and got two different ones.

Here in the photos below, I placed the umbrella in my clients hand and turned her back to the sun.
Having the sun beam right through the paper gave such a pretty glow behind my client.

In front of the client out of the view of the camera is my reflector bouncing light back onto her face. If her skin is too pink from the glow, use the silver side of the reflector. Otherwise, the white side of the reflector will do.

Matt 'n' Savannah and their Maternity Session

Just as I promised, here is the second part of Savannah's cute little baby bump session.
Needless to say, Matt and Savannah did not fail me when it came to doing a great fun and creative maternity session.
We almost didn't even make it through the shoot because we were just laughing so hard I nearly peed my pants!!
You can just see how fun loving these two are.
They are going to make great parents and I cant wait to meet Little Harlynn.

Stay tuned for Savannah's birth story and Harlynn's newborn photos.....

Boys will be Boys

It has been over a month since I have posted anything on my blog. I am not complaining because I have been so busy shooting photos. I just feel so lucky that there are people out there that think I am good enough and get paid for what I love to do!
Here is one fun session I did recently,
Talk about a ball of energy, these two boys were full of it. Chasing them around the metal art museum in Gage, Oklahoma was quite the experience and I definitely needed a nap afterwards.
Looking at their photos you can see that they were just so much fun to be around.

I have never liked the posy posy photos where everyone is stiff and don't show much personality except the smile on their faces.
Since the boys DID NOT want to sit and smile, I just let them play around while I capture moments in between.
This has go to be some of the best candid shots I have done to date.

Spring Break with the Grandparents

This year on spring break, the kiddos and I decided to head to Fort Worth,Texas for a few days to visit family.  We had a lot of fun visiting Luke, Abby and Ella's great grandparents. I am just so sad we are not closer to each other and the "GOSH DARN it" gas prices are to high to travel to see them more. It was nearly $200 in gas!
There is not a whole lot we can do about it so we just have to really enjoy each other when we do get the chance to visit.

These two people are so very special to my heart and are just the most wonderful grandparents any person would be lucky to have in their lives. I am so glad I am that person.

On the way back home from Fort Worth, there was this amazing field of canola as far as the eye could see. It was just too breathtaking not to stop and get a few photos.
